Lumina Alliance is the result of San Luis Obispo County's two most trusted organizations dedicated toending sexual and intimate partner violence merging into one larger, stronger alliance. Lumina Alliance provides streamlined support to clients throughout the Central Coast, including:

  • 24-hour hotline

  • Emergency safe houses

  • Transitional housing

  • Advocacy and accompaniments

  • Therapy

  • Legal services

  • Children's services

  • Prevention and Education

  • Offers multilingual services

211 SLO County is a free and local one-stop-shop, operated by the United Way, which provides free information about local health and human services. Anyone can access by visiting the 211 website or texting questions to 2-1-1 on their phone. Information includes but is not limited to:

  • Children and Family

  • Finance and Employment

  • Food and Clothing

  • Housing and Shelter

  • Healthcare

  • Crisis hotlines

  • Legal Assistance

  • Mental Health

  • Senior and Older Adults

  • Substance Abuse

  • Transportation

  • Veterans, military and family services

  • Offers multilingual translation

Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County is a local community action agency that provides free services to families, to promote self-sufficiency and economic security. Community Action Partnership offers services and support in the following areas:

  • Child Programs

  • Teen Programs

  • Family Programs

  • Senior Programs

  • Home and Energy Efficiency Programs

  • Homeless Programs

  • Veterans Programs

The Center helps families becomes and stay strong with programs to prevent child abuse and provide essential resources to support families in need within our communtiy.

The GALA Pride and Diversity Center offers free and confidential support groups for children and adults ages 12 and older. Groups are offered via zoom with a confidential zoom link during COVID-19 and in person when the time allows.

The Gala Pride and Diversity Center offers free parent support groups online and in person, for anyone who is the parent or caregiver of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning children. For information about how to access the group, email

The Community Counseling Center is a non-profit organization that provides short-term, low-cost, professional counseling for individuals, couples and families who would not otherwise be able to afford. Most clients have no insurance and low to moderate income.

Parent connection of SLO county is a parent education and support program that strives to encourage, strengthen and nurture families.

The SLO Food Bank is a local non-profit that provides free and nutritious food to individuals and families throughout SLO County. You can access their food locator and find a distribution site near you by clicking the link above.

CCC-USS strives to support the undocumented community of the Central Coast. They serve North Santa Barbara county and San Luis Obispo county students, educators, family members, and allies, offering resources for students and educators.

The CCC4IS actively supports the development of safe and affirming school communities. They strive to celebrate diversity, advocate for social justice, and transform educational cultures by empowering youth, families, professionals, and organizations.
